Yesterday night, I got hives for the first time in my life and they were really bad! They made up my entire face, even my eyelids! It was horrible! The problem is, I don't know what caused it! They're gone now, but I was wondering if you ladies could help me try to pinpoint a source. I haven't changed the products I use in my routine at all, and the only products I used that day was CeraVe's hydrating cleanser and their PM moisturizer. Could I have developed an allergy to something in those products? If not, could it be stress related? I know that I should see my dermatologist, but that's not really an option at this point so any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks beauties!

Do you have any food allergies? a gluten intolerance sometimes causes hives as a reaction. or maybe you were bit by something? I got hives once from a reaction to a bee sting. or if it was only on your face then it could be from one of your products. maybe try an immunologist in addition to the dermatologist. until you figure it out, don't use any of the products you used yesterday. good luck! hope you feel better soon! xox

I have no known allergies of any sort, which is why I'm a bit confused! Thank you for the help!

I get what I call stress hives, or sometime if I even have a cold. I have gone to dermatologist many times and each time nothing. if you have no come in contact with anything new recently, food, cosmetics, skincare and even cleaning products or detergent that might be the cause.

Yea, stress will do crazy things to you. I have never had hives but when I was in school I apparently was so stressed that I developed ulcers on my tonsils. It was the worst pain ever, I thought I had strep throat except it was a lot worse than that. I guess that and it being winter and cold/flu season really weakened my immune system because I was very sick after that. I'm not saying for sure that your situation was caused by stress but it's entirely possible.

Ugh I have eczema and super sensitive skin so I have allergic reactions to a variety of things. Like others have suggested, it could be a reaction to stress. Another reason might be a change in weather/temperature or a virus. Aside from my normal allergies I've has since I was a kid, in adulthood I started getting strange hive looking things just as the weather starts to get nice. Some years I don't break out but if I do, it's usually only once a year with maybe a second minor breakout. I go to my dermatologist every time and they always tell me it's a virus and I've either just been sick or am going to get sick and there's nothing I can do to cure it. I just have to let it work its course and use medication for the itching. I don't actually think this is correct in my case because I never end up getting sick and it's always around the same time of year when the weather isn't too hot but just starts to get sunny.
