Do you sometimes get requests for smaller makeup service requirement such as just tattoo coverage but that is about it nothing more. There is no bridesmaids or bride makeup to do. Do you think it's worth the travel? She is about 45-50mins from me.

I would definitely charge them the mileage fee

I charge a service fee, parking, mileage, etc, but just to go for a tattoo cover, it's not worth it to me.

Nicol I was thinking of the same actually because I mean if the job involved other things I would do it but just tattoo she can buy a mehron tattoo concealer and do it herself too. And she told me her friend is doing her bridal makeup. Thanks everyone else for your advice and answers.

I had agreed to do a Photoshoot about 3.5 hours away for "gas$" and I got there early, brought a mobile studio basically shows props wigs clothes etc... Arrived at 3:30pm got kicked out of the park at 10:10pm by the cops, helped the photographer pack her car busted my butt to get home after 2am and I received $40 for gas. From now on I charge the Standard IRS 0.56/mile because u can't argue with IRS and keeping it professional. Bitter lesson learned.

Wow. I have a model mayhem profile and in that it completely states my rules for photo shoots and working with models etc. I do not drive beyond 20 miles or so for unpaid work and if I do I make it clear that I charge for gas and also kit fee so if they want to work with me those are the rules and I won't bend those rules for anyone I work with. Plus most of them look for TFP work and I am not interested in those since I did many of them.

Elana, wow. That's crazy. Yes use the standard mileage rate.

I don't do TFP's anymore. These days they aren't worth it to me.
