I use this for my hair , skin , and whole body. I heard from Jamicans you can drink this , and it will clear your body out. Is that all it could do or is it more to it?

If its raw unrefined it is edible and you can cook with it the same as you would use coconut oil ,

I'm sure it's similar to coconut oil which is safe for cooking & also used as a supplement. I took some of my Coconut oil once... It wasn't all that bad.

Oh no it has to be raw unrefined shea butter nothing else added so you have to read that tub ,but if it is just like you can eat,and cook with coconut oil you can with raw shea butter ,

Lol neither a health food store or african or Jamaican shop ,it might say 100 percent natural but if it doesn't say raw and unrefined I wouldn't put it anywhere near my lips well maybe on my lips but not in my mouth lol.

Ohhh?. But no jacqlyn , its not lotion. Its a nut in Africa , and? well I forgot the process temporarily. But its like a oil? when melted and when you put it in thw refrigerator it hardens. :)

Haha this thread is great! Aaaaand of course Traci is right. Though I wouldn't recommend it straight :/ yuckbar. You can find coconut butter in the health food section of a grocery store :) Cocoa butter is basically chocolatey deliciousness...that's the beauty of the oil/butter craze. It's all stinkin edible! :) as long as it's food grade as mentioned.

I just now looked and didn't even know that. So you CAN drink it? But I wonder is my brand is ok to drink? I won't drink it though lol , don't wanna get sick. But These are some good facts.

Oops you can't see it. I will just copy /paste

1. Mothers typically rub their babies in?shea?butter almost every day, believing the "moo?yao" makes babies fat and promotes good sleep.2. Villagers often drink a teaspoon of warm?shea?butter to ease sore throats.3. Women traditionally chew?shea?leaves to alleviate stomach pain.4. Shea butter is widely used throughout Africa as a cooking oil for traditional cuisine. I consumed plenty of it while in Uganda.5. Men and women sometimes rub?shea?butter on swollen areas to decrease inflammation.6.?Joseph?Kony, crazed leader of the Lord's Resistance Army, tells the children he abducts and converts to child soldiers that drawing a cross on their chest with?shea?butter will make them invincible in battle. Horrifically sad, but true...

And @Maggie , Shea butter and Coco butter is different. Actually Shea butter has more nutrients, since its a nut in africa. Its a neat nut to learn about and the process and neat too.

Ya I know :) I was giving examples of the different butters and throwing out coconut butter (different than the solidified oil) as an option to find in the grocery store. They're all edible :)
