I did not like it at all! I used the vibrant red dye and all it did was make my hair a very dark red colour (wasn't what I wanted) and it didn't stay in for long either.

What's the catalyst that opens the cuticle to put the color in? That is the question. Most box color has 30% to 40% ammonia. That's why box color trashes hair. The Cuticle is blown wide open. Salon color uses under 10%. See a stylist.

I loved it my hair felt so nice after but it doesn't last long at all I dyed my hair darkest brown after doing henna (I used pure henna) and my hair felt beautiful but the red is starting to be visible again :( after almost 3 weeks

My mom used this for her grey hair and it didn't work on her grey hairs very well but the rest of her hair was a gorgeous brown and the hair is really healthy too

I've used it (but I used the black one) and I didn't like it. In my experience, it just made my hair really quite greasy...😞I wouldn't really recommend using Garnier Olia dye.

I can see your box dye walking down the street. Your untrained eye may not think it's damaged. So no ammonia, I'd Google the ingredients on the back. Oil can be a carrier, but not a catalyst. Yes, it's going to feel soft after cuz it's got oil in it. Someone above said the color didn't last... that's cuz the cuticle is wide open, it falls out. If it's a budget concern, I would say to just ask for 6 foils. That should be around 30, and still give you a nice change. Find a stylist who will work with you. :)
