I've been making the Buffy bars at home (and king of skin) and it's been awesome!! I officially have my own little lush in the kitchen lol it's beyond comparable and SO much less expensive. Has anyone else tried DIY products? Or recreations of lush etc? I've also made bath bombs/melts, lip products, body butter, cuticle oil..the list goes on! Aaaaand so does the savings :p.

Bath bombs are soooo easy (once you get the liquid ratio spot on) as is the rest of it! King of skin/Buffy bars are the same recipe w/ ground rice to exfoliate. I'm at work but will post recipes later from home if anyone wants. It's basically cocoa/shea butters and oils :) again I started out trying to recreate lush products so these bars have fresh organic avocado and banana in them :) Oooh and oatmilk...the possibilities are endless!

And this is a shot of ingredients (w/ quite a few extras) I started with essential oils and the rest followed..you need at least a few of those to get the heavily scented "lush" experience!

Ok ladies. Sorry for the delay..I was hoping to do some conversions before posting but I simply can't find the time this week!

Keep in mind with all of these homemade products as long as you have the basic ratio liquid/oil/butter etc.you can make whatever adjustments you like. Any similar butter/oil will do and obviously scent is based on your preference. For instance I didn't have rose absolute (Spendy stuff!) and where it calls for perfume I used vanilla extract. This makes a tiny personal size batch. It's easier to make on a larger scale.

Also MUCH easier to make the bars if you have an immersion blender. Oatmilk recipe can be found online, it's basically strained/simmered oats/water. Let's see if I can throw down instructions right quick... Melt butters in double boiler (you can use a glass measuring cup in a pan of water) take off heat and add coconut and all liquid oils.

Combine avocado/banana/oatmilk and Blend (or mix but blending will produce greater results) and when oil/butter mix cools stir in avocado mix and blend again. Ok the last step is important! You want to put the mix in the fridge to cool but not solidify..and then blend again. It should be a creamy consistency when poured into molds and then straight to the fridge/freezer! If this sounds complicated it's because of my directions..it really isn't! Feel free to ask anything I left out. I'll grab the bath bomb recipe ☺️ phew!

The last thing I'll say about body bars is that w/ the recipe above I converted to drops for all the oils. That is 1tsp=5ml=100 drops
3 tsp=1tbs=15ml=300 drops

I hope this is all making sense! 7g of banana is about 3 thin rounds.

I used this to start with and have adjusted my bath bombs to personal preferences. Including adding bath melts to the centers :) it's all very customizable. A lot of ppl doing home bath goods soon realize that recipes are good to start with but the my fav outcomes have been with my own combinations/ratios. If anyone tries this stuff I'd love to hear how it goes!

Ingredients
1 cup citric acid
2 cup baking soda
1-1/2 cup cornstarch
½ cup epsom salts
2-4 tablespoons water
Small squeeze of food coloring (Optional)
10 drops essential oil, or more as desired (Optional)
Equipment: suitable mold for bath bombs

Instructions
In a large bowl, mix together the citric acid, baking soda, cornstarch and Epsom salts.
With one hand, stir dry mix constantly with a whisk. With other, drizzle in the water until the mixture just clumps together. If you start to see fizzing, that means there is too much water in one area and you should stir that area quickly to distribute out the moisture.

(I use a spray bottle instead of pouring method!!)

Add just enough water so that the mix holds together when you squeeze it in your hands.
If coloring your bath bombs, use a few drops of food coloring to achieve the desired shade.
If scenting your bath bombs, add in the essential oil a drop or two at a time to achieve the desired smell.
Pack bath bomb mix into molds very firmly and smooth the surface of each bath bomb.
Unmold bath bombs onto a sheetpan or other flat, dry surface.
Let bath bombs dry overnight.
Carefully package as desired for gift giving or your own personal spa day.
