It all depends on how tall you are. 20' will be longer on a person who is lets say 5'2 but will be shorter on a person who is 5'10. Depending on your height will determine the length you should get.

Then 20' will probably work for you :) and clip ins are deffinitly the way to go when it comes to extensions, in my opinion. Also, make sure you get enough grams so that it blends into you hair to look more natural. Have you decided on a brand of extensions yet?
