Would it be smart to use a facewash as a spot treatment? I'm only considering using it because it contains 5% benzoyl peroxide. I used a little bit by my ear to see if it would burn or irritate and it didn't.

No. It needs to stay on your skin to work. Your face wash should be used to cleanse your skin otherwise you are just washing away beneficial ingredients. You wouldn't just put on a moisturizer and wash it right off. That's just marketing gimmick.

Kitty, I think she was asking if she can leave it on like a spot treatment :) if that's the question, I still think the answer is no. Face wash is a particular thing, and simply leaving it on your face wouldn't have the same effect as a spot treatment.
