..between pressed powder and loose?
How do you know which one to use?

I've actually never worn foundation as my day to day makeup but I love reading all of the goodies you beauties use. I want some! lol

Thanks girls!
I do know the difference in the textures lol
I'm just wondering the difference in what one does differently than the other.
Thanks again!

Pressed powders usually give more coverge, loose powders are more for setting makeup or for people with oily skin

Loose powders are usually more finely milled, so the individual "grains" of powder feel smoother.

Pressed is usually higher coverage and more highly pigmented than loose powder - which tends to leave a more sheer light finish.

From what I've learned. It depends on the brand that carries them both. Some of them pressed and loose are the same but the different is that the pressed is more convenient for people to bring around and the loose is for home using. Also, with loose powder it tends to take longer to finish than pressed powder :D.

Loose powder is the way to go for home use. It's soooooo much better IMO. I remember back in the day being intimidated by it and clinging to my pressed compact, now I rarely ever use my compact, it just floats around my purse for emergencies. If you're looking to do a powder foundation you're going to need a good brush to apply, and from there you can build coverage. I like Laura Mercier Mineral Foundation for my powder foundation, it's what I use for my 5-10 minute face. It's super easy and quick.
