Deep purple/plum hair color.

Ok so I have very dark black hair, I really want to dye it a dark/deep purple/plum color. Does anyone know any good dyes? if you have pics similar to the color I want please post.

Any veggie dye brand has tons of purple. It just depends on what you can get. Manic panic, special effects, directions, punky colors etc. they all have a few different purples and it'll just depend on your preference.
Are you bleaching it or just putting it over top if your hair? That'll make a difference too.

I'm not sure, I've never dyed my hair before so I'm exactly sure how to go about doing it =/

Well do you want bright purple or dark only slightly tinted purple hair? If you want bright hair (or even dark but vibrant) you'll have to bleach it. Go to the salon for bleaching, they will do it with less damage than you would while doing it at home, as long as you go to someone who knows what they're doing.

Just to give you an idea on how bright you want vs what you'd have to bleach. So this is blue instead of purple, but it's all bleached hair underneath. If you want anything darker than the bottom color you likely will not have to bleach. But if you want one or any in between the colors, you'll have to bleach. Once you decide how vibrant and bright you want your purple I can talk you through the steps you'll need to achieve it from black hair. :)

What is suggest then is to just go out and buy a purple dye, put it on your hair and if it's too dark for what you want, wait a few weeks to let the veggie dye then bleach it and do it again and it'll be brighter. But if you like darker than it might work really well just on top of your hair already. :)

Whichever brand you can get is good, my favorite is special effects and manic panic. But it'll all depend on what you can get where you are and how it takes on your hair. Everybody's hair is different and will hold some formulas more than others. :)

I usually go to sally's I think I've seen manic panic there before. But I haven't noticed any other specific brands.

Sally's has manic panic, punky colors, and usually beyond the zone. I'm not sure what your local Sally's has but that's what mine has. :)
