I recently read bio oil is not safe to use while pregnant is this true? Is there anything you have used that worked great and was decently priced?

I have actually gone to the doctor in a case of stretch marks. I know my comment won't be very helpful in terms of product recommendations but my best advice from the doctor was to leave the stretch marks as they are. No product can truly and thoroughly treat stretch marks because they will always be on your skin regardless of the dramatic weight change/skin stretching that you're going through. I was also told to always apply lotion to your skin where there are stretch marks because it at least prevents more skin tearing because your skin has moisture. The stretch marks will always be there but they fade to match the color of your skin and I guarantee to you that the majority of the female population has gone through a stretch marks situation.

You can try palmers cocoa butter it's cheap like $10 although it didn't really help with the stretch marks it was really moisturizing! But mederma works sooo good! It's a bit pricey though

Exactly what Manal said. Stretch marks are your tiger stripes. Own them.

Nothing can remove stretch marks.
most important thing is to keep the skin moisturized. the palmers products work to do that. their body oil.
but bio oil and mederma are in fact not meant for use while pregnant. just after.

I had really bad stretch marks on my entire lower stomach, dark reddish purple, when I was pregnant. I didn't put anything on them when I was pregnant, but used Strivectin after I had my son and they faded completely to skin tone. There is still a little bit of an indented look, but a lotion or cream is not going to fix that and probably only laser or something like that. I thought Strivectin was worth the cost though (maybe 85 or so, can't remember).

Standard in-store creams are pointless once the stretch marks have made their appearance. The only one's that have a smidgen effect is a Retin-A or vitamin a derivative. If you have the funds available...Levia laser therapy offers a 30 to 90% change for the better. Creams are great while pregnant...great at reducing the stretch marks before they hit the skin.

Pregnant presently...do not scratch. Feel the itch come along...pat, pat and immeditely apply an intensive moisturizer like the beauties above mentioned.

My cousin used palmers cocoa butter during her pregnancy and she didnt have many stretch marks, but stretch marks are totally normal and natural to happen during pregnancy although I guess it makes sense if you wanted fewer.

I have 3 weeks left and my stretch marks are just starting to itch. do you girls hav any advice for taking the itch out?
Jul 21, 2014
Shelley W.
Laura whenever you feel your skin itch apply a rich moisturizer. I have three kids and that's what I did for every pregnancy and I have no stretch marks on my stomach.
