I'm not sure if there is a different cleaner your supposed to use when cleaning fancy jewelry (diamonds, sterling silver, gold, fancy gems, etc) compared to less expensive jewelry but with school in a week (yikes!) I would like to clean up all my nice jewelry. What do you use to clean your nice jewelry or jewelry in general?

They have jewelry cleaner from target. And you can also make your own DIY one: http://www.goodhousekeeping.com/_mobile/home/green-living/homemade-jewelry-cleaner.

It's best to get it cleaned professionally honestly - they do a much better job of it.

Most of the time when you buy expensive diamond jewelry they usually have a protection plan that includes monthly cleaning so check the place you bought it n go from there.

Like Diana said, get it done professionally to be safe. plenty of places will do it free. I work in jewelry at jcp and we do it all the time. but please please please if you do it yourself, be careful about what products you use. certain solutions only work with specific stones and metals so make sure you're reading your labels!

Hi! I worked in the industry for years and went to school for Gemology. Windex, or simple ammonia is the best and safest method- please don't use toothpaste, or any other household cleaners! Just throw some Windex or ammonia with a little water in the microwave so it's good and hot, then soak your items, they clean with a toothbrush. Diamonds, sapphires and rubies are very tough , it's no problem to leave then overnight. Pearls, opals and emeralds require much different cleansing, pearls are very delicate avoid perfume, lotions etc. and only wipe with a very soft slightly damp cloth. Sterling silver is best cleaned with a silver cloth, the dips should be used sparingly- they are seriously nasty solutions. Bleach should be avoided at all costs, it corrodes the metal alloys in your rings- under magnification they look like Swiss cheese! I never wear my rings in the house, they stay clean, shiny and gunk free, and my diamonds don't get knocked lose when cleaning! Hope that helps, oh, Connoisseurs I think it's called is good store bought cleaner- I by the delicate for delicate items- but hot Windex is great for the tough stuff!😁

Connoisseurs is what I use. I got a kit with these little wipes and a liquid solution at walmart for less than $8 if I'm remembering right.
