So I have this matte lipstick from MAC and after a couple hours of applying it, my lips start to peel and get really chapped. Is there anything I can do to keep my lips moisturized without having to apply chapstick?

You should try a lip exfoliator. You can purchase it at target for literally like a $1!!All it does is removes the dry skin from your lips & it leaves your lips very smooth & moisturized!

I apply lip balm like an hour ahead so it can get absorbed into my lips ¬ affect the color.

1. how dry your lips are before may play a factor
2. I find that their retro matte lipsticks are more drying than their mattes, however if you're reapplying too many layers can make the lipstick start to peel. you also may need to drink more water.

I get the same problem and what I did is I melted down the lipstick over the stove and added a glob of vasoline in with it. Once it was all mixed down I poured it back into the tube of lipstick. It's still matte and not has trying.

The trick is don't add to much Vaseline. Also immediately after pouring the lipstick back into the tube place it in the fridge.
