...to use a chemical exfoliator on your face if you have active acne? I was wondering because my skin is kinda congested and people were telling me it would help and also because I have some acne scars that I would like to get rid of.

Well I used to, and it only made my acne worst. So I started to use all organic producs and now my skin has cleared up a lot :). So I would say that an organic exfoliater is better for your skin then a chemical one.

It should help, because physical exfoliators can be too abrasive for acne.
