I've heard ppl using eyeshadow as a highlighter? does it work or look stupid? definitely don't wanna look like a glitter puff..

I've heard of that too. I think it looks a bit ridiculous myself. If you want a highlighter, get one. They aren't super expensive and are worth the splurge.

I wouldn't do that. Face reactions can occur since it is not made for our skin. I recommend Benefits high beam, it gives a gorgeous glow and you can use it as a highlight or add a bit to your moisturizer for a dewy look

It works but it bugs me because its eyeshadow

We did it in school sometimes, if you're worried about the shimmer just use a matte eyeshadow.

I think it's only okay if it's all you have and it's matte. Under the brow is okay.

I love doing it, doesn't seem to make my skin irritated. If it irritates your face, why have it on your eye area? I like to use shimmery highlights from my shadows on the face sometimes, but a nice matte shade works great and looks really natural, paired with some nice matte contouring. I like to use some of my fave highlighting shades from my e.s. palettes as facial highlights, esp. if I'm using those shades on my eyes, to match it up. I just like to use my makeup in as many ways as possible. I love discovering new uses. To switch it up you could use a facial highlight on your eyes too. I do like Benefit's High Beam- which looks even better when set with a highlighter for more drama.

It's fine to use products in different ways! There's no reason a soft shimmer eyeshadow can't be a highlighter. If you apply it correctly I don't see what the problem is.

Hahaha, it's fine. Seriously, it's fine. I've done it many times and it looks just like a regular highlighter. I've used pink eyeshadow as blush before too. It won't hurt you.

Essentially the ingredients are probably the same- its just the name/label and packaging that's different.

im a bit confused as to what would look "ridiculous" kristin. i bet if you saw multiple pictures you wouldn't be able to tell which ones used an "actual" highlighter and which used something else.

Theres no limit on how to use your produts. When i got NARS training she said in the tinted moisturizer ad they used lipgloss on the cheekbones in order to create a glow. If it doesnt irrtate your skin...go for it
