I'm looking for some good makeup deals on Friday/ Saturday.
Dollar general is right next door to me so I was wondering if theirs any good deals I should check out?

Here is what I think about dollar store makeup:
It is normally cheap, cheaply made, poor quality makeup. You would be far better served trying to get something good for slightly more money that will perform better and last longer.
Cheaper makeup is able to be cheaper because they have more product filler than pigment, they use cheaper pigments and fillers, and they are generally made of lower quality ingredients. I wouldn't want to put dollar store makeup on my face, personally. There are certain lower end/price brands that are okay, like Wet N Wild or LA Girl, but even then, neither of those brands can hold a candle to something more expensive and higher quality.

^^^ Couldn't agree more with Hannah! Also I find when ever I use lower end cheaper brands I always get a rash where ever the makeup is which is never good considering most of that stuff goes on your eyes and all over your face. I try to save up and buy higher end brands. Right now for Black Friday deals Ulta has great stuff going on along with Sephora and my favorite brand Urban Decay has a whole couple days a deals goung on like different pallets for $10-$20 and an entire lipstick set and individuals eyeshadows 3 for $36.

I agree. Ulta has amazing deals right now! I actually use a lot of drugstore makeup, but make sure it's not the super cheap stuff or it might irritate your skin. I get mine at target. I like the Covergirl mascaras, loreal foundations/concealers,physicians formula. I wouldn't go for la colors or any of the super cheap brands.

You can get maybelline mascaras; I personally don't like them that much (I prefer Covergirl), but a lot of ppl like them. I hear amazing things about the NYC eyeliners so maybe look into those. I love Covergirl blushes (: I like my rimmel stay matte powder, but they don't sell it at my dollar general so another great alternative would be Covergirl. (I really like Covergirl lol) I really don't like a lot of products there, they irritate my skin, but those are some decent products many ppl love.

Katelyn, do they have legitimate drugstore brands at dollar stores? I didn't know!
If that's the case, I do really like the Maybelline Lash Stiletto, and the Revlon balm stick things, those are nice as well. I was under the impression that a dollar store wouldn't have the higher quality drugstore makeup

Well normally the actual quality drug store brands at dollar stores are old and/or discontinued.

Yeah (: my dollar general has maybelline, revlon, Covergirl, NYC, and brands like that! You do have to be careful with the brands you choose because they also have a lot of la colors & really cheap brands.

Ashley, mine contains some of the newer products as well (:

Hm, I suppose you learn something new every day. Dollar stores are not my forté =) I just assumed it would be harder to find the better drugstore products there because honestly they're not always that cheap.

My dollar store carries brands like that and I've never had any problems with them. Being a young girl and having to buy my makeup myself that's all I can afford!! I think they might be having a 40% off on all Maybelline cosmetics but not for sure you can always look it up on the enter net!! Hope this helped:)

I guess I'm just used to more quality products. I used to buy whatever was cheap and available but I ended up throwing away over $100 worth of unopened product because It just sucked. Now I save my money or wait for deals so I can get highend, or I make sure the drugstore brand/ product is worth it.

And btw the products were all old as well, I bought a ton on elf stuff (along with other brands) and I never even touched the makeup so I tossed it.

Haha, I know that feeling. I research the product before I purchase it. My dollar general doesn't sell elf products unfortunately. A lot of them aren't amazing, but they do have a lot of decent products in the $3 elf line (:

I personally wouldn't recommend brands like la colors. Go for brands a little more expensive but still completely reasonable like maybelline and covergirl. I think dollar general has a couple things from those two brands. Just try to avoid la colors because since it's extremely cheap it's cheap quality too and it's not worth risking since there are other brands that are trustworthy but still reasonable.

I totally agree with becka I really like cover girl. I find it's the best quality at the dollar store and la colors is cheap and cheap in quality!! :)

The only thing I like from la colors is one of their eyeshadow palettes. It's still not amazing, but it's pretty good (; don't purchase their face products because they broke me out and are made with cheap products and I don't like any of their eyeliners because they poke your eye and it's not pigmented at all! Another thing I like from that brand is there lippies. That's all from that brand though. They have a couple decent products, but be careful when getting products from that brand (:

I just got a new eyeliner from them! I don't use it as a top of the eyelashes I use it under them as I feel it makes my eyelashes look fuller I know there's a word for it I can't think of it right now and I totally wish I would have got a different one but it will do for now!! I just like there nail polish really!!

The Wet and Wild brand is fairly good and NYC has really good lippies for very cheap. If you want to go cheaper I would try and get brands that you know. :)
