A regular lotion like that can be too oily for the face, clog pores, and break you out, which is why they make moisturizers specifally for the face.

Anything that isn't made for your face shouldn't be used on your face. You don't want to risk breaking out. I would buy something meant for your face.

Lotion can be fine for your skin
It's what I use. I honestly don't use a moisturizer and I find lotion works just as well. So really it depends on your skin. So try it and if it doesn't work the. Do what you feel is best

Facial moisturizers are made to be put on the face and not weigh it down like a traditional body lotion might. Also, fragrances are usually added to body lotions that can really irritate your face. A good rule of thumb is that it doesn't specifically say it's for your face, don't use it on the face. :( aveeno is a great brand, and I'm pretty sure they formulate specifically facial moisturizers!
