I've looked it up & it says to wash them in hot water but does it work? Or do they shrink too much?

I do it all the time, and then dry them in the dryer. It depends on the material how much they will shrink. I use this method on older pants that stretch out when I wear them, but never on new pants.

Make a "bath" with conditioner (yes hair condioner) in it and soak it in it. I haven't tried it myself but a lot of people told me that it is amazing and that works so awesome.
