I would roll the shorts up a tiny bit just so they seem proportionate and maybe get a neckline that isn't so high because it seems to clash with the cardigan

Agreed with Brittany in rolling up the shorts just a little bit , don't really like the stocking on but it doesn't look bad.. Maybe a v neck shirt so it won't clash with the cardigan
Oh and the boots look great yet I would wear black or white converse or vans..

You have great style and I don't think anything needs to change! I wouldn't roll up the shorts because I love the fringe type stuff at the end and I wear stockings under all my shorter shorts or just to toughen up a look. I would see if you could get away with stockings that had some kind of detail such as studs or a design in them. The boots are great! I probably would have worn those secret wedges that are wedges but look like sneaker; or possibly conversed but those boots are stellar and if they are comfy and you like them then wear them! Really love the outfit and it's great for a first day! Really shows of your personal style!
