Yes! I do this all the time. I have very oily lids and I layer a very small amount of nars smudge proof eyeshadow primer and then go ahead and apply a paint pot. Paint pots for me do crease after awhile. I can usually get about 6hr out of them with no primer. But you could definitely layer with primer for some more longevity. Hope I helped!

I don't think paint pots are the best for a primer with hooded eyes but they do slightly help. Lately I've been using Maybelline tattoo eyeshadows as a primer, they stay a lot longer and also add more dimension to the look. But if I am not going for a shimmery eye then I use a more pigmented shadow over them to conceal the glitter and it works pretty well and lasts a lot longer than the paint pot on it's own. Also I like to put painterly paint pot over Maybelline and this also double primes and eliminates any shimmer. I recommended bringing it up and over the crease as far as possible for your eye shape and to smooth it out extremely well with a brush so that the layers are thin and even.

Maybeline color tattoos crease like mad on my eyes, even with primer and setting it with a powder.

I've only tried Mac paint pots once, in store I had some LE color applied. It held up really well (6+ hours without primer on my hooded lids) but I'm not that into creams.

BL also did an article about cream shadows that hold up in the heat. I believe they mentioned using them as a base/primers too. It was only like a month ago

No problem! I've never tried any on the list as like I said I'm not a huge fan of cream shadows but it's worth a shot to try I think. :)
