Just wanted to share with you girls that Lemon juice really clears the skin, reduces acne, softens, lightens the skin n peel the first layer of skin. The vitamin C content in lemon fades dark spots so it's known to be a bleaching agent. I tried it and it shows results on the very first application itself, it fades the spots I had on my face. Worked wonders! So if you haven't tried it, go for it. Dab some lemon juice on face with cotton pad, be careful if you have sensitive skin don't apply it directly. You may mix it with honey or something.😊

I agree with Alexis. It's not good for your skin.

Oh really Alexis is that so?😳 I haven't heard that but I have read good things about it.

Lemon is also photosensitive (I think that's the right word) which is why your hair goes lighter if you put it on your hair and sit out in the sun. As a result it also makes your skin more sensitive to UV light so it isn't really wise to use it on your skin.

Oh.. I didnt know that. So I got the false information 😒

What if it is used on acne prone skin or oily skin.
Aug 23, 2014
Angel R.
Yes it dries out the skin so that's how ph balance may get effected. I am not sure.

I've used it and since I'm desperate for my acne to go away, I'm doing it anyways lol. But I only apply it in the nighttime because lemon actually make you tan easier.

Oh really Tomoko.. But I applied on my oily skin too it didnt worsen it.

Katherine you said lemon make us tan easier, doesn't it lightens the skin tone??

@Beckey I know some girls use it on their hair to have shiny hair

Oh yes I got it.. So it darkens your complexion instead of lightening. Too bad then I won't b trying it ever.

Lemon won't make your hair shinier. It will bleach it basically but it's very drying and can make the resulting colour very orange and brassy. It's better to just use bleach if you want to lighten your hair.

Everyone is differnt. I use lemon juice every couple weeks. Even though it does a couple damage , its half good half bad.

Is it the same thing if you drink it?. I squeeze a lemon into my water bottle every day. I've seen a big difference in my skin and it's way clearer now. But I'm not applying it directly to the skin is it still causing imbalance in my pH?

And if you have enlarged pores...it will only make them worse. Drinking lemon water is fine...applying it to skin...damaging and when you hit my age of 40 years old all the abuse you inflicted on your skin will show up as an older adult. Accumulated damage. Alcohol free witch hazel or aloe vera toner alcohol free are far better for the skin.

There are just better options people wanna use it,it's cheap you can go in the fridge and grab it ,instead of investing in some quality skincare products but it's a scientific fact that citrus fruit and the sun can cause a photosensitive reaction on your skin and cause dark spots or burns so is it the best option nooo ,you can use a ton of other proven ingredients that work tee tree oil, salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide to spot treat ,vitamin C ,peptides or kojic acid to brighten pigmentation problems and if you just Love lemons make lemon aid lol just kidding use spf of atleast 30 ,reapply every two hours dilute it and rinse it off don't go outside with it on your skin ,
