I obviously don't know what foundation color I should wear. Whenever I go Sephora or Mac they advice me and in stores it looks good and then I go out looking like this. It's frustrating and it's making me poor bc in 2 months I have wasted like 80$ on fundation. I don't know man, I'm very frustrated.

Well, I know they matched me wrong at MAC because it's artificial lighting. what you should do, is have them test it on you and go outside before making ANY purchases. $80 is a lot of someone's money to be gambling with, I'm sorry you've had to go through all that for what didn't even work!

Ask for a sample before you buy any foundation for places like Mac... You need to be able to see the foundation in different lighting.

Mac also matched me wrong.. Well I don't know if they were wrong, reasslly but nc15 (the lightest shade apparently) was far, far too dark lol.

Sephora stores have a machine that determines your skin tone and matches you to some of their makeup. It's worked. For me :)

Always get a sample before purchase. also one thing I have noticed is whenever they try to match my color in a store its usually too dark and I just will pick a shade or two lighter. it's easier for me to warm up my face and make it look darker with.bronzer than four me to try to lighten it with a dark foundation. but yeah always get samples :)

If you live in the US, you can return your bad foundation, even without a receipt! I'm really sorry about this though, it really sucks. You could try it on and then go out and look at your skin in natural light. Good luck!

I would recommend to start the new search by going to counters that provide samples and have someone for you to talk to a well. Decide whether you are more interested in liquid cream or powder application. As mentioned, samples are great as you can try them with the rest of your makeup and see what you like.
Think about the level of coverage you're after too, consider a buildable colour so you can be more in control :)
Don't know if this has helped at all.
