So I haven't worried too much about my skin routine until the last few months and I've had this toner around for a little while but I'm not entirely sure what to use it for? I have dry skin and I know it's generally used on oily skin if I'm correct. Will it help keep my skin clean? And you use it before you moisturise or? Thanks girls, I'm not used to asking skincare related advice so anything is useful :)

Thank you Hailey :) I've tried it a couple of times and it hasn't had any negative effects on my dry skin but perhaps because I've only used it on a few different occasions is why I didn't think it did anything haha! Thank you

When you cleanse your face your skins acid mantle is removed (protective moisture film) using a toner after cleansing helps to replace the acid mantle and close the pores, it also removes cleanser residue and helps to prep the skin for moisturizer. It's best to read the ingredients and always avoid toners with alcohol in them as they can dry and irritate the skin

Toner is usually used to tone your skin, to get your skins pH level back to its natural state. Most cleansing products strip your face and alter your pH level. I work with Dermalogica and since all their products don't alter your natural pH their 'toners' are more calming or hydrating mists depending on which one. I used to wait till it soaked in before putting on my moisturizer but I was taught to actually do it while your face is still damp and that has been working better for me. It just depends on what toner you have and the ingredients on what benefits it will give for your skin.

But Hailey is correct it isn't just for oily skin it is used for all skin types. I use Dermalogicas multi active or ultra calming toner and I have dry skin with redness.
