My hair is black and I wanted to know what's the best way to lighten it up? I was thinking about salon Blonde highlights?

I would do peanut butter colored highlights!! My friend just got some and it looks amazing! Going for blonde would look very odd.

Caramel color highlights. You NEED to go to someone very experienced with highlighting dark hair or you could have bad results (ie brassy). I have almost black hair and they have to strip it and then do a toner to lighten it.

Just be careful if you do blonde by yourself or even by a pro - I went to a salon for blonde highlights (my hair is naturally black) and it ruined my hair - there was so much chemical damage that my hair was fraying and splitting on a daily basis and I had to get it all chopped off before my hair returned to it's former healthy glory - so just be careful it's always hard on dark hair to go light.
