I don't think anything is better as long as it's not so hot that it burns you! I like to use lukewarm to warm water - but in the shower I always end with cold water :)

I prefer hot water because it opens up pores so the cleanser can clean thoroughly. Lately I've been thinking that maybe I should pat down my face after with a towel soaked in cold water to close them back up again afterwards.

I use hot at first because it open up the pores, but I always end with very cold water.

Like Renay, I use warm water then splash my face with cold at the end. The transition from hot to cold helps reduce the look of open pores (because pores don't actually open and close), aswell as reduces any swelling such as under eye bags. I find that it also stops me from going so red around my nose during the day.

It's not good to use water that is to hot or to cool warm water to soften pores and cleanse cool to harden pores back

I used to wash my fave with warm water but I read somewhere that warm water may cause aging effects on the skin. Cold water tightens the skin so now I use cold water

Warm water to open up the pores and help the gunk get out, cook water to finish off. I agree with traci, extreme temperatures damage the skin. Warm/cool water does it safely without any damage.

I have recently started having a problem with black heads and pores so I se very hot water on those areas and then end with cold cause it closes your pores and also a nice hot steamy washcloth leave it sitting on your pores you really want to clean out for a little bit make it a lot easier :)

I use warm water, it opens the pores, and when I am dine rinsing, I add a splash off cold water, thus closing the pores!

I run hot water on a soft (baby soft) washcloth first and lay it on my face for a steaming effect to help open up my pores. Then I wash my face normally with lukewarm water. Then I do a final rinse with cool or cold.
