Maybe try a non permanent hair color first? you can see if you like the new color or not, you can experiment and try some new shades and you could still go back to your netural color without too much truble :)

If you get a purple based colour it should fade out gradually to maybe an ash blonde of some description (if it fades) so if you didn't like it you could just wash your hair regularly and because it's blonde right now it should fade a little bit and you could decide in that time whether you like it or want to go back :)
