I have dark dark brown dye at the bottom of my hair and dark brown top and I'm not sure how to get it all to be one dark brown (not ddbrown) color. I'd like to do it myself too.

Do u have damage at the ends? If so, trim that first. try buying 2 boxes of the same color you like. It depends on how porous your hair is. to get mine medium brown, I have to buy blonde dye. Get a toner and use that before you dye it. It,makes all of your hair equally porous so the color comes out even. Do a strand test too so you know how long to process it to get the shade you want. plus, all box dye has an 800 number you can call to speak to hair colorists that can answer questions you might have.
