agreed , do very small pieces instead of bigger Chunks and when your finished pull it apart . so it loosens out a bit. You don't want it super tight

Start with your fishtail very tight and it will loosen as the day goes on that way you won't have to rebraid your hair every couple of hours.

Have it smaller pieces and allow pieces to come out even at the crown of your head. its supposed to look very relaxed so dont pin up all the bits that fall out. looks really good with layers.
