Yeah, it irks me a bit when people are like "good for sensitive skin" when in fact, not one product is good for all people with sensitive skin. It can be perfume, essential oil, whatever free, and still cause adverse reactions.

Most people who have acne have sensitive skin because there skin is raw red and irritated so acne prone skin should be treated with care but there can be sensitive skin with no acne this skin type just gets red and irritated from harsh products or certain things will cause a breakout

Thank you for saying this. I have sensitive not acne prone skin. And I get recommendations whenever I say I have sensitive skin, in person too, and I'm like "no, I'm not sensitive to products that can cause acne, I'm sensitive as in my face gets red, itchy and sometimes stings when there's ingredients it doesn't like, I don't breakout from them" I have so sensitive skin that just putting on moisturizer makes it all red from massaging it. Yet I keep getting told to try Cliniques acne prone foundation and the high end face washes meant for acne which as to harsh for sensitive skin because they are trying to get rid of bad acne which I don't have.

And Maggie yes that! I get hives from pretty much most things. Like I get hives from cocoa butter, shea butter and all the butters but I'm fine with coconut oil. Most body washes break me out in hives, even the hypoallergenic and scent free ones. Every bodies skin is different and most people don't get that.

You need to use more calming ingredients on your skin Alyx not products with ingredients for acne ,look for products containing calendula, licorice,Camille ,rosehip, and antioxidants.

Traci I know :) and thank you but I've got my routine all figured out. But my skin is just ultra sensitive like my fathers, you can poke his cheek and it'll stay red for 45 minutes and mines the same way. I use oatmeal masks once a week to calm my skin and it's really helped a lot.

Yeah, the best products for people with sensitive skin are those that offer samples, so you can test before you buy. That's my motto lol.

Well of course Em everyone's skin has different needs what works great for one won't work for the next, but in general people need to do research for themselves I work on people's faces all day I can't tell you how many people don't know a thing about there own skin every question I ask I get I don't know lol you have to have some kind of knowledge about it or its just a guessing game.

I agree. I have sensitive skin and have tried many products. I hate that blanket term "for sensitive skin," might as well say one size fits all. As I get older I notice what affects my skin changes over the years. I have combo sensitive skin. I started using anti-aginf products in my early twenties. I have always worn spf daily because of my fair sensitive skin. My skin has gotten better over the yesrs...less inflamed. partially because I learned what worked best for me. I will say that witch hazel and tea tree oil are staples in my bathroom. I'm 32. and always patch test a product. watch for patterns and ingredients.
