No it hairs beautiful dreadlocks are just matted hair it you don't really wanna make your hair all matted and they hurt a lot to get themout.

I had dreadlocks & I loved them. I think they're beautiful. If you can handle a long commitment, go for it. It'd look bomb on you.

I've seen girls pull off locks!
but I think that whole not permanent thing is bs. you're basically knottting up your hair so combing it out is going to produce massive split ends. my brother and cousin had locks my brother tried brushing them out but it was too much of a hassle ans just causing breakage so he shaved his head. my cousin would go every weekend to have his scalp cleaned to prevent blisters. I say if you really want them, get them but its a commitment.

Totally agree with Stephanie. People tell others that dreadlocks are easily taken out, which (in my opinion) is totally false. I also tried brushing my dreads out and my hair kept snapping so I had to cut all my hair off. You definitely need to make sure you want them 100% & be ready to rock them for a long time.

When I put in my dreadlocks it was very freeing. I put them in myself just because I wanted to. The really cool part was that the whole experience taught me to love and accept the way I look no matter what other people thought. I think that you should do what you want, and who cares what anybody else is going to think about it. It was really empowering.

It's not true that dreads are permanent or that there is no way not to damage you hair when putting them in. It helps to start with healthy hair, as with any style. I used the twist and rip method, and didn't use any wax. I did crochet a little at first, but became too lazy for that and realized that my hair dreaded better when I left it alone. Crocheting will definitely increase the chances of hair breakage in any circumstance, so I would stay away from that as much as possible.

Because I have a life and work and stuff like that, it took a long time to take them out - like from September to February - because I took my time and was super careful when picking them out... I miss them :(

Of course, how easily they are removed is going to depend completely on how long you've had them and how you put them in.
