Ok, so this is gonna sound like a REALLY stupid question, but when you do makeup on someone for something like a wedding or prom, and you use false lashes, what happens to them afterwards? Like, do they just give them back to you, or do you have to buy a new pair every time? xD

lol its not a stupid question hun but rather a bit funny. the question is would you want them back after a client has used them? i would say no for me. typically lashes would be included in your fee for the client and i would let them keep them. its best to use lashes like red cherry because they are cheap but great quality. ardell and demi can be a little expensive when buying in bulk. I always buy lashes for the client because after i have given my services and the client is satisfied i leave and may call to see how the event went. but your question is not stupid because you didnt know. hope this helps. but google wholesale lashes it may cut down on the cost.

In NYC we add an additional fee for lashes and let clients know this upfront before having makeup done. Always carry lashes in your kit...bothh black strips and brown along with individuals. Try to get lashes with a thin lash base as these are easier to apply and more comfortable for clients to use, especially if they are not accustomed to wearing falsies.

A lash fee? I'm not a professional make-up artist but I've hired several in the past for various special black -tie events and I was never charged a separate price for false lashes. Always a flat-rate. If an artist mentioned charging an extra fee for lashes I probably wouldn't go with that particular artist. As Jordan said....nickle and diming a customer is just tacky.

I Normally give a client an option of lashes, but i will knock off a couple of bucks if they bring there own lashes (ive had a lot of people do that) and no i dont ask for them back i tell them, if they wear them daily or want to practice applying them Just take them off and put them in the box. again it all depends on the assignment.
and i HAVE herd of a lash fee many salons charge a lash fee and a handfull of makeup artist also do its not unheard of .

never take them back from a client...what's the point? It's not like you can re-use them at that point, they're trash. Yes, you buy new ones for each client...it's not a big deal. Maybe it is if you buy them at cvs for $6 a pair, but there are many resources for makeup artists to provide lashes for $1-2 per pair.
