So I tried this the other day because my lips have been SO dry because it's winter where I live. This method was SUPER easy.
I applied CARMEX on my lips and then dabbed about 3 finger tips of white sugar on my lips. I then rubbed my lips together for 30 seconds, rinsed off and applied a lip moisturizer! My lips were SO soft after!
Try it <3

I usually use olive oil and sugar, but the carmex probably wouldn't be quite as messy.

I'm not a big carmex person, and I tried it with Vaseline and it works as well!

I did the olive oil but it was so messy. I tried it with aquaphor and sugar and it was great. Thanks for sharing!

I've used ground Cinnamon with Lip Balm when my lips start to peel, for some reason the Victoria Secret Lip Scrub taste like sugar and the taste is so irritating to me. Since cinnamon is in many lip plumpers I see a difference but I get to lazy to be consistent with it.

I've tried just chapstick and sugar, it really does work! One time I was really sick and my upper lip was ridiculously dry and peeling, it did the trick.
Lately though, I've been using my toothbrush to brush my lips once every day or two. It works better, in my opinion, and leaves them feeling sooooo soft! If you do this before bed and use a lip butter, you wake up with the most amazing feeling lips.

i put on some blistex lip conditioner to loosen up any dead skin. i then exfoliate with my minty julips from LUSH, but you can totally make your own sugar scrub. i just really like the flavor of that stuff. when i'm done i put on another layer of lip conditioner and my lips are super perfect!

oo, I use the Lush lip scrub and I think that has some sort of oil in it as I can feel a bit of oil like texture after I take it off (or should I say eat it of!) It has made such a difference to my lips i have to admit! Just wish I could make it a part of my routine, I keep forgetting to use it!

I brush my lips with a tooth brush and use a sugar scrub from Lush then use Carmex. Especially this winter because I spent most of it sick and it destroyed me lips :/

Thanks so much for the tips. I will definitely try them. My lips peel almost every other day. I apply chapstick several times a day. I've been looking for something more natural to use.

try putting a little honey together with brown sugar and olive oil for some moisture and instead of white sugar, use brown sugar. It deff works and your lips feel so soft after! I use my carmex chapstick after exfoliating my lips and they feel great
