what can i do to get rid of the dark marks left behind from my acne?

I don't really rely on any product for this except concealer to cover it up until it disappears.
But what I do is that I make sure I have enough protein on my diet in order to speed up the tissue-building process of my skin after acne dries up. This could also help avoid puck marks. Finally, don't prick pimples! Scarring and dark marks usually happen because of pricking.

My acne has settled down significantly, but occasionally my skin will freak out and I dread the spots of hyperpigmentation more so than the actual blemish.
Figuring out what's causing your acne can go a long way in helping things out long term. Prevention is so crucial because if you can minimize the breakouts, then you don't have to worry so much about new ones cropping up. Nothing's more frustrating than finally seeing a spot fade only to have a few more appear.
I find that drinking lots of water (3-4 bottles/day) really helps my skin repair itself. Sunscreen is always important, but if you're using any dark spot correctors or medication they are even more important since your skin tends to become more sensitive with these products which can put you at more risk for damage if you don't protect it.
As for specific products.. I don't have any, because nothing has ever really worked. Though I'm starting with Clinique's Dark Spot Corrector in March.. so we'll see how that goes.

There is a bleaching cream name black and white that you can find at your local walmart, cvs, beauty supply store as well as other stores that have done the job for me. I always keep me a tube just in case I have a spot that does not go away on its own. It is a product that I have used for years when needed. The product will not bleach your skin a different color, (lol) it will only lighten up the dark spot that you have at least that has been my experience with the product.

I would make sure to always wear sunscreen (since the sun could darken those spots) and be sure to use a gentle exfoliating facewash to remove the old dead skin cells each day. Over time the marks should fade :)

Hey! You can try putting pealed potato on your blemishes! I know it sounds weirds, but it does work! It contains an enzyme, which is in skin lightening creams, so its basically going straight to the source, instead of going to creams. If you want to know how to do it, just message me :)

I had horrible acne scars from the cystic acne that used to plague me. I noticed that using a sunscreen (I was using prescription acne fighting topicals) helped a lot. I was also scrubbing my face and using masks 2x a week. My scars went away so fast -- faster than the ones that took months/years to fade before I had my skin regimine.

A lot of people talk about Bio Oil really helping with dark marks/scarring etc. I'm in the same situation and from what I've read this seems to work. Bio Oil says you should have some kind of result within 3months. Just started using it myself so hopefully it works!
