It upsets me because I spend $6.00 - $8.00 per nail polish and at the longest it only seems to last for 2 days before chipping occurs. What can I do to stop this? I tried a Salley Hansen top coat but it just seemed to make the chipping worse!

Do you wear base coat? There are different kinds of base coats you can use to prevent chipping. Also, I would try a different top coat- namely Seche Vite or Sally Hansen Mega Shine. I wear those tcs and my nails stay nice forever!! Also- you are wrapping your tips, right? Because if you're not, that alone will make a HUGE difference. Good luck! :)

I agree with Nicole M. I used to have this problem and working in the medical field, I am constantly washing my hands--big issue. I have since changed my polish regimen. I now use Sally Hansen's Base Coat + two coats of polish + Sally Hansen's Anti-Chip Top coat. I was using Seche Vite but found that it hardened my polish so much that it made them pop off whole (like a fake nail), so I stopped using it.

@Nicole M. What do you mean by wrapping your tips? I have such a bad problem with my nails chipping. I figured that it was because my nails are brittle. I'll have to try a base coat and see if that helps.

Have you tried a base coat with fiberglass in it?
