Indie Makeup Brands

Hello ladies & gents,

I was wondering if any of you could recommend some of your favourite smaller makeup brands. Once I finish up on my Project 20 Pan, I'm interested in checking out some new companies.. but to be honest, there are so many of them, I'm not really sure where to start.

They don't have to be exclusively mineral makeup, but I would prefer companies that aren't just repackaging pigments/products to resell.

Thanks. :]

Considering it's not yet listed on Beautylish (I tried doing a search), I'd like to throw out Vapour Oraganic Cosmetics.

By luck I won a 'prize' for liking one of their statuses. I thought I would get a bunch of sample lipglosses, and whatever else. But the 'prize' I got was pretty good actually. Anyway... to the point >>> I really like their Stratus stick!

I'm not quite sure if this brand is still considered "indie" (I think it is though)- but Sugarpill Cosmetics has the best eyeshadows I have ever come across. Their loose shadows are equally as amazing. The only thing is that they don't have neutral colors, but if you love bright colors, Sugarpill's line is absolutely fantastic and is relatively affordable.

Uh yeah... just an update. I am super impressed with Shiro Cosmetics. SUPER. And its nerdy names... so I love it.

I've never heard of Meow, but I'm going to give them a try. I've heard good things about Everyday Minerals, but I've never ordered from there.

@Brianna G., I really want to get my hands on some Sugarpill Cosmetics.

Just be careful with *some* indie cosmetic companies, a few have repackaged TKB trading. (tkbtrading.com) << they ahve some fantastic colors and generous sample sizes.

That's part of my concern, I'd rather support businesses that are doing more than repackaging.. hoping to weed them out. If you know of any, but you don't want to call them out publicly, send me an e-mail?

Oh & also, definitely check out Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics. Again, I'm not sure if they're considered "indie" but their products are fantastic! I'm kiiinda obsessed with their new OCC Tint, and I love their loose colours and lip tars and nail polishes.

I've been really wanting to try OCC, I've heard nothing but good things about that brand.

I agree with Hazel about Shiro Cosmetics! They now have their own website!

I haven't tried them either, but I think I'm gonna order some samples really soon! I totally love the geeky side of this cosmetics company, seeing that a lot of the eyeshadows are related to Zelda and Pokemon. Plus, I see some sparkle in them, and I LOVE sparkle!

I highly recommend High Voltage. The owner, Jasmine, is an absolute sweetheart and so, so helpful! So far, I've only tried the eyeshadows but I'm really impressed. She also makes amazing looking lip products that I've heard great things about.

Happy shopping :)

Pretty Addictions is one of my absolute Fav Indie brands. I met her through blogging, she is a sweet girl and her products are very good! Her website is www.prettyaddictions.com I am also a fan of Concrete Minerals!

No problem she is coming out with lip and cheek products this month. I cant verify how those are but her e/s is amazing :)

Well, there's no shortage of recommendations.. thank you everyone! :D
