Does anyone have a recommendation that does not include tea tree oil? I have a dry scalp but my skin is sensitive to tea tree oil.

My son had very dry scalp, when we went to get his hair buzzed, I saw all the dry patches and what not. The hair dresser said she seen worse. That day she washed his head with Paul Mitchell Tea Tree shampoo. He said it tingled, and I did get a small-small bottle of it that day. That small bottled lasted pretty long... considering she recommended using it couple of times a week. She also mentioned that since he had very thick hair, when it grew out... his scalp would probably get more dry, so he should get hair cuts often. I guess under all that hair, his scalp needs to breathe too. Lucky for him, he's a guy and can still look good with a shaved/buzzed head.

His scalp didn't get any better, so off to the dermotologist we went. He pretty much said the same thing, that his hair was very thick and what not. He did prescribe some prescription strength shampoo that he had to use for 4 minutes 2x a week. Either than that, he had to use some dry scalp shampoo for 60 seconds.

The doctor mentioned that when his scalp gets better he doesn't need to use these products and when it returns to go back on them. He mentioned there is no absolute cure for it.

Anywho, the doctor mentioned Selson Blue is good... there is another brand at the tip of my tongue that is a little more, and really good, cut I can't seem to remember it at this sec. =|

I also get psoriasis (small scab like things) on my scalp and tea tree shampoo has helped tremendously. The only thing that I've found is that I'm not a huge fan of the way tea tree shampoo makes my hair feel ( I don't feel like it's clean enough) and I'm not a big fan of the Monty smell but it's all personal preference.
