I've done it before and it is actually quite easy.
1. Braid your hair into about 1 1/2 inch braids and tie with an elastic.
2. Starting from either end, take one end of the braid and bobby pin it to the opposite side.
3. Repeat until all the braids have been pinned up.
4. I would suggest putting multiple bobby pins and some hair spray.
