I have a perm that I got over a month ago and I am wondering if I keep straightening it will loosen it up or eventually go away?

Yeah, I straighten my perm everyday and my hair is still crazy curly is I put a lil mouse in it. You'll have to grow it out and get it cut cause I got my perm a year ago.

There is no way I'm cutting my hair short I don't like short hair at all.

It will loosen over time and eventually fall out entirely. Typically around 4-6 months at longest.

Ok good because I don't want to put anymore chemicals in it

You'll still technically have permed hair regardless, so it's something to keep in mind especially if your hair is long. It will be classified as permed, regardless if there is curl left or not. This is important to remember if in 6 months you have color done or something. It's also worth noting depending upon your hair type and condition it may be more frizzy than it was before the perm. Remember, you did chemically alter the structure of your hair!

Would it be bad if I take the perm out?

Like chemically straighten it? Honestly, that's not something I'd feel comfortable answering without being able to really "know" your hair. Yes, some people have very strong hair that can handle two serious chemical processes (no less than 3 months apart is the only time frame I'd consider even trying). But most can not. Would you be able to go back to the same stylist and ask her to evaluate your hairs condition and get her opinion? You could even try asking him/her to do a test strand. If I had done a perm a month ago, and the client was already unhappy with it I would definitely would be willing to work with that guest to make them happy. Never hurts to ask, right?

Yeah my hair looks pretty good I have no split ends or anything and the perm is already growing out its probably grown out a couple inches already.
