Other than trial and error, check out some YT videos, those helped me TREMENDOUSLY! & still do to this day

Do your research and practice makes perfect! I consider myself to be pretty good at makeup and I'm still learning! Just watch those tutorials. They helped me so much. Be creative and try new things! Don't be afraid to look weird. Half of it is experimentation.
