For tiny locks like that, you should be able to just force the clip open: this would ruin it forever, but at least you'd be able to get your stuff out!

try and stick a tip of a sharp knife (be careful) into the holes and try to turn it. I use to use those kinds of locks on a lot of things when I was young. hope it works.

Take it to a locksmith. My daughter's sax case has a weird lock and they had a key for it ($3). I'm sure that a reputable locksmith will have a replacement key for it.

Thanks, ladies. I stil haven't gotten it unlocked, but I did manage to be able to slide the top hooks off and on with a screwdriver so that's what I've been doing. My boyfriend is going to try to make a key, but I can't find a good picture of one so if anyone would be willing to take a picture of a key that they have for the same lock that would be swell! If that doesn't work I guess I'll be taking to to a locksmith.

Take it to a locksmith. Most won't charge you to figure out what key would fit and you end up paying just for the key. Less hassle in my book I think.

i don't know if you got it open yet or not, since this was last week. but those keys look like the ones that come with the generic locked diaries i remember having when i was a kid. i would try finding one at the dollar store or walmart & see if that works. but like everyone else was saying, hopefully a locksmith could help.
(okay, i lied. i probably wouldn't have lasted long enough to go search for a key for it & just busted it open. :/ haha.)

If she's an mua, that's a general reason why she needs a lock - there's a lot of makeup an mua carries around, and most of it is expensive stuff.
