Hi, I recently created a YouTube account to post some of my nail art designs on there. However, I'm not sure how to start when it comes to filming.
For example, I'm not sure how I should present the video to the public, the way I should do it etc...
I would be so grateful if I could have some guidance, tips or advice from anyone! :)
Hi I'm doing nail tutorials for more than a year now. I learned a lot during this time! I can give you some advices, even though my videos aren't perfect at all!
1. Show the design before you start the tutorial
2. If you have two designs for your nails, then show it only on two nails (I sometimes showed the same thing twice which is boring..)
3. My older videos have also bad lighting/ camera quality.. I noticed I can get a lot better quality out of my camera by simply changing the lighting (Recently I got a HD camera though)
4. Cut a lot and make some parts faster (editing nail videos can be exhausting..)
I hope I could give you some advices! I can't tell you how you should exactly place the camera, because I haven't figured that one out yet..
Good luck! xx Sarah
Thank you soo much!!!
One other quick question if anyone can help:
What program is best for editing?
I tried movie maker on windows and I find it looks really basic compared to some videos
If you're gonna do voiceovers, I highly suggest adding in captions of some sort so those of us that are deaf/hard of hearing will know what you're saying.
(I suggest that whether you talk to the camera or to a microphone for voiceover anyway, but especially for voice overs).

Umm I'd say voice overs would be really great for nail tutorials?

Or just music playing w/captioning.. Sped up.. Be creative, try each out & see which you like best :)

I agree -- use voiceovers rather than speaking as you're filming. It'll look more professional that way, and you won't have to multitask.
