Hey all, hope you're all doing well! I need help buying a new primer. All I've used is MACs prep and prime skin base visage and its practically done but before I go buy a new one, I want to try something new. So my question is what primer do you think is the best for helping my skin stay oil free throughout the whole day and make my foundation flawless? Any advice is appreciated! Thanks beauties 💘
The normal Mac Prep & Prime is pretty good as a basic primer for oily skin. Laura Mercier also do an oil free primer but I'd have to go with the Mac one. It's less creamy on the skin and sinks in really quickly. I also like Estee Lauder Idealist as a primer. Definitely check it out, get a few samples and use them first to compare.
I use Mark. Matte Chance Mattifying Lotion to mattify my skin and then if I do wear a primer, I use Mark. Primed for Perfection Face Primer, but usually I don't even wear a primer, the moisturizer is enough for me. Apply my foundation and set with UD All Nighter. Even without UD All Nighter, I don't have to worry about oil.
I'm a rep, so you can always check out the Matte Chance Lotion, http://arioja.mymarkstore.com
but I also hear that the Korres Mattifying Primer is good
I use Clarins Instant Smooth Perfecting primer. This product is non-comedogenic and should not clog up pores. I like it for skin that is oily - combination. But couple it with a matte liquid foundation and loose powder to set and keep the shine away.
You must listen to me... I have the world's OILIEST skin. (I mean, I can pat my face with a blotting sheet every hour, and the whole sheet will be used).
I have tried everything, from Smashbox primers, boutique mattifying gels, to Urban Decay's De-Slick setting spray... the normal primer consistency feels so soft and smooth to the touch, but makes my face even worse... and mattifying primers seem to make my skin impossible to blend on.
The best thing I have done is use a BB cream as my primer. BB cream will absorb oil, but still ensure that your face is getting the moisture it needs throughout the day.. and even begins to diffuse minor imperfections on the face. It is the best!
I would suggest Smashbox's Camera Ready... it really works well with oil control. I wore it at Coachella in 112 degree heat, and it still did it's job!

You should try e.l.fs Eye primer and liner sealer. It's very creamy and stays on great.
