I worked dental for 3 yrs and managed tanning salons for 4. There is a thing called twilight teeth that salons sell. There's an in bed kit and at home kit. I HIGHLY recommend it. It's a great product. We sell the at home kit for $35 which is cheaper than whitening strips and can actually pull fillings out of your teeth. Hope this helped. :)

Well it's safe, but you can't use it all the time. It does work and I asked my dentist about it and he said its okay to do about once a month. So here goes.

My grandmother told me once that if you make a paste of baking soda and peroxide or baking soda and water and brush your teeth with it they come out whiter. So I tried it, it definitely worked. But the. I felt crazy cause I was like- "Is that even safe?!" but my dentist said its fine as long as you don't over do it, and a lot of toothpastes have baking soda in them.

Be warned, it tastes like shit but it gets the job done!

Sadie s, 15 to 20 minutes? ? sounds like too much . and what is oil pulling?

Oil pulling is a traditional Indian folk remedy for strengthening teeth, gums, and jaws. It helps to prevent tooth decay, bad breath, bleeding gums, dryness of the throat, and cracked lips. It is also used to reduce enamel wear from stomach acid in hangovers and bulimics.
The procedure is simple, inexpensive, and uses readily available ingredients. First thing in the morning (and before meals, on an empty stomach), oil is swished around in the mouth for 15 to 20 minutes, then spit out. That is all there is to it. No fancy equipment or complicated techniques are required.

Cold pressed sesame oil is regarded as the best oil for this use

-Also if you rub the inside of a banana peel on your teeth it will help whiter them. Use a ripe banana as it has the most potassium content in it.Take a piece of the inside of the banana peel and gently rub around on your teeth for about 2 minutes.
The amazing minerals in the peel like potassium, magnesium and manganese absorb into your teeth and whiten them.

Strawberries and Baking Soda!

Crush up one decent sized, ripe strawberry.
Mix with about 1/2 tablespoon of baking soda.
Spread the mixture onto your teeth using a clean, soft toothbrush.
Let it sit for approximately 5 minutes.
Brush your teeth thoroughly afterwards. (floss to remove any seeds!)

Crest Whitening strips & stay away from soda, coffee & candy, those tend to stain your teeth easily.

Hydrogen Peroxide whitens teeth amaziiingly :3
Pour a little bit out into a bowl and dip your tooth brush in it,then brush your teeth for 1-2 minutes.
Just make sure yew dont swallow any of it. Dont worry though,it doesnt have a taste :p
Anyway yew should start seeing a difference in a week or less :)
The peroxide removes the surface stains on your teeth AND whitens them c:

Lemon juice and baking soda, mix into a paste and brush with it at night. Supposedly it works: my Granny taught me that :)

I second the baking soda and strawberries. Use only once a week and you'll have safe, natural whitening! It is much safer than hydrogen peroxide! As well, you can get a toothpaste with a little whitening in it to keep it working.

And @charlotte, that sounds interesting! Do you have to use a certain type of oil?

Hey Madi :)
Traditionally unrefined sunflower or sesame oil was used for oil pulling, but many other oils are used as well. Unrefined olive or coconut oil come highly recommended if you don't want to use the traditional oils.

I've been using Crest Glamorous White toothpaste for a couple months and have been really impressed with it. I can't use it every day because my teeth tend to be sensitive to whitening products, so I end up using it 3-5 days a week. Even without using it every brush, I have seen my teeth whiten a few shades. No one had ever commented on my teeth being white before I started using it, and now I've gotten numerous comments on it.

BAKING SODA! Use it 3-4 times a week(every other day) and end with a FLOURIDE rinse(baking soda has no flouride so it's essential to use a rinse that has it) and your teeth will brighten right up!! I have a box just for my teeth and it lasts FOREVER!! Just wet te brush, get some on there, and brush. Mind you, it's absolutely disgusting and the first time I did it I nearly gagged. After a while you begin to get used to it though and the way it makes your teeth look and feel is beyond this world!!

Good luck my dear!!
