my business card says makeup artist in training... it sounded like such a good idea when i ordered them.... i wrote "in training" because in my mind i am not a pro but i am on my way to be one but dont think ive done enough paid work to be called a "pro" yet... should i order new ones that just say makeup artist? or should i just use these and my next set say makeup artist without the "in training" ? please heelp lol

If I were you, I'd order some new cards that just say "mua" - I'm sure that you are totally capable, but "in training" doesn't sound good. Besides, as a mua you will never stop learning! Have a bit more faith in yourself + good luck :) x

Yup! order new ones ^^ take off the "in training" replace it with "Makeup Artist", although you are still learning & you will learn new things everyday, no one really needs to know details, just the fact that you are indeed a "Makeup Artist".

New cards. If you are a makeup artist, you're a makeup artist and we all start somewhere. The best way to approach that is when you're networking for work or soliciting for work to just be honest. When I started building my portfolio working with photographers or freelance with clients, I'd explain I was always drawn to makeup and had worked a lot with friends & relatives but opted to expand in to it as a career. Honestly "in training" may place doubt with a client. Let your work speak for itself regardless of experience.
