So i'm planning to dye my hair a blue black color, but since it's one all over color I think I could possibly do it at home rather than go to the salon. Any ideas to what is a good brand? Or any advice?

if you're going darker- its okay to do it at home
if you're going lighter- go to a salon ! :o
but john frida has a really good mousse hair dye. and if you dont like it, go to your local beauty supply store:)

Schwarzkopf live xxl home dyes are great for unnatural colours and they do a great blue black :)

I'd say home is ok... Just make sure to cover everything around you! It's hard to come off of things if at all! Lol ion has a great blue black!

if you want a permanent dark color, go to a salon and tell them you dont want semi-perm. if you just want to play around, go to a store and get manic panic: midnight blue and apply at home. if you don't wash your hair everyday and pay the few dollars extra for the "amplified formula", the color will last you over a month or two. ive heard it can last longer as well.

You can do black at home. Be warned. There is no such thing as "semi permanent" black hair color. When you want to go lighter you WILL have to go to a professional.

Put a thick layer of crème around your head, ears and forehead for protection. Died my hair black yesterday and it all stuck on My forehead. Looking all messed up now:D

Nathalie: eye makeup remover should get rid of hair color stains on your skin. it works for manic panic which is almost impossible to get out of anything.

Yup. Any oil based eye makeup remover works. Been using manic panic for 20 years (literally) and I figured that out a month ago.
