highlight and contour with concealers or foundation (pressed powders would be best) since men are supposed to look more "natural" when they wear makeup

Maybe checkout a good BB cream/balm, they tend to look more natural!

I used to do my friend's make-up (He's a guy as well) I think powder foundation would look best on his face and for eyes I would say if you wanna wear eyeliner keep it in the eyelashes and this will just make them look thicker and seem like you're not wearing eyeliner and maybe add some mascara :)

I don't think that the "natural look" should be a rule. I have seen plenty of guys, both gay and straight, playing with makeup and pulling off bold looks like nobody's business. Maybe for everyday you might want to tone down, but I say that if you want to experiment, go for it! Push the boundaries of your comfort zone! I would start with some crazy eye looks- so much fun to make and wear! Good luck! :D

I think BB Creams are your best friend in this situation! Along with bronzer or a powder darker than your skin tone to contour.

@Jeanette Think Cinna from the Hunger Games: still masculine, but with an element of glamour and beauty

I am not sure if this is for everyday use or for a special occasion but, if everyday; a nice tinted primer such as Murad or PTR pores no more has a nice smooth finish to it once on the face. You can also try a nice BB cream, maybe Smashbox since it has great color range and has more coverage than most BB creams out? Murads concealer is really nice too! Hope that helps!
