Ive always wanted to have pink hair but when I finally brought myself to actually dye it all the manic panic color didn't work. I wanted to bleach my hair and due it again( I picked out a new brand-special effects) but my friends talked me out of it. Still want to go pink but everyone thinks it would look bad on me. What should I do?!?
As long as you take good care of your hair after you color it you should be okay:) My hair is obviously not blonde:P I have to touch up my roots often. I only wash my hair twice a week, and when I get out of the shower I put a small amount of oil in my palm and distribute it through out:) Limiting washing helps keep the color in, and also helps keep your hair in good condition! Also deep conditioners, avoiding heat styling helps too:D
I think you could do it if u used a good dye, and really took care of it. Like, REALLY took care of it. And I would first grow out ur hair so it's healthy before bleaching.
falling in love with a good leave-in conditioner is key to healthy bleached hair. but i am wondering how the manic panic didnt work for you? what happened?
Do it. Hair grows back. Hair can be dyed back. If you are going dark pink (like a fuchsia) you might be able to forgo bleaching by using loreal hi color highlights in magenta (only available in beauty supply stores). If you bleach, use quick blue.
Invest in good conditioner and sulfate free shampoo. I've been using deva care no poo, which is a cream cleanser, and it helps my color stay longer (I'm vampire red mixed with ultra violet since 2006).
Also, the manic panic bottle doesn't say this, but process it with heat. Get one of those bonnets to attach to your hair dryer and sit with that for 20 minutes. It will make your color more vibrant and last longer.
I have pink hair & I use special effect cupcake pink (takes about 6 weeks to fade). If you use sulfate free shampoos and a deep conditioner such a macadamia oil deep repair mask it'll restore the health of your hair from bleaching! Everyone always wonders how I keep my hair so healthy. Also try getting a dry shampoo so you don't have to wash your hair so much.
I say do it though, it's always so much fun having random hair color! Who cares what people think!

I agree! ^^^ Yes bleach will "damage" your hair... BUT if you take good care of it, it will be just fine! =)
