Hey Ladies! Hope your weeks have been fab! I need some advice please! I'm puerto rican and italian, my hair is thick and used to be very wavy/curly. But last year i attempted to bleach it, it went terribly wrong and i had to whack my hair. Now that it's been growing back this past year and i've been taking good care of it --- It is hard to get to curl the way it use to. It's now more of a strait - to some what wavy texture now. It's still thick, but can't curl without it becoming MASSIVELY frizzy. I hate using a diffuser- It just looks like a big crazy puff. Mousse does nothing but make it crunchy and frizzy. Anyone have any idea of how i can get more of my beach waves & curls back? Besides the "no heat" rule i've already been doing? Is there a shampoo/conditioner or anything that could help enhance my curls again? Right now i've been using YES TO CARROTS organic shampoo/conditioner (it works great by the way :)! ) and i have dry hair, so i VO5 oil treat it about once a month or 2 months or so. Any advice would help so much I MISS MY CURLS! Thank you again! <3 Kirsten

you could try a salt spray, it would help with getting more of a beach wave :)

Try going to a Paul Mitchell Salon/school near you getting an awapuhi keratriplex treatment it helps repair your hair and leaves it feeling amazing! also i would check into Paul Mitchell Awapuhi Wild Ginger sea salt spray and styling oil!

OMG, I am also 1/2 Puerto Rican and 1/2 Italian with the same hair type and I did the SAME thing last year, dying my hair too much! Make sure you use moisture moisture moisture. That's super duper important. I also bought Aquage curl defining CREAM, which is way better than gel/mousse. Try a deep conditioning mask like something by Biomega or Paul Mitchell's hair balm in the big tub. The products to get your hair back might be kinda steep, but curly hair is actually the driest of all hair types anyway (part of what makes it curly) and needs super doses of moisture. So what you need to get your curls back is to get your hair healthy again. Stray from products with silicones or alcohol. When blowdrying, add product to wet hair and twist tendrils around your fingers so they kind of look like dreadlocks. Then place the "dreadlocks" into your diffuser like you would normally on the medium power setting (if you have one, if you don't high is fine) and use the cool shot to blowdry your hair. Your hair will dry into those dreadlock looking things, but carefully pull them apart and finger comb them, then hair spray. This is what I had to do to my hair for the loooooongest time until I could get it to curl that way on it's own again.
