I would like to do something dramatic, try a bold new color, but what are the best hari color brands to use for this? Like dying my hair red, not burgundy, or put blue highlights, or green streaks in my bangs? I have had to put colored extensions in my hair instead of dying my hair, but i dont always wanna have to use extensions.

Manic Panic is a good brand if you like crazy-bright colors; but in order for them to show at their brightest the hair would need to be bleached. Also, I've heard good things about (but never used personally) Special Effects, Directions, and Punky Colors. :)

Splat has permanent colour for your whole head or streaks that you can brush in with a thing that looks like a mascara wand but they wash out. Hope I help!

i use special effects -- it's honestly the best semi-permanent out there for crazy colors in my opinion. also some colors glow in the dark ;) if you really want to commit and have no fading pravana carries a line of insanely pigmented bright colors called chromasilk vivids. i've never used this line but i've heard good things -- however, i've also heard that because this color is so pigmented and basically a pure dye it cannot be lifted out of the hair with bleach. so use caution. http://www.beautylish.com/p/pravana-chromasilk-vivids
