i agree with tiyah, applying a base colour first will give a even base as well as making your lip products more vivid and true to colour.
But as for actual lipstick, i love macs creme d' nude, its a brown based nude, or if your pale mac creme cup is beautiful pink nude, Revlon lip butter in Cremesickle is also really nice if u dont want something as opaque as a lipstick :)

You can always mute out your lip color using concealer or foundation then apply the nude color.
