So I've been wanting to try nail art stamping for a while now but being on traineeship wages i can't afford konad atm, i did however purchase a no name set off ebay ( =/ bad move already i know! ) i bought like 20 plates and NONE of them seemed to be etched in or deep enough for my stamper to pick up the designs, does anyone know if there is anything i can do ? please help! x
i had a similar problem i got a compas out of a maths geometry set, i just use the curve of the point and went over the pattern, it wasnt great but it made them a bit more usable x
You know what Ashley that is exactly right. I had a film over mine as well and it was such a pain to remove but once I did the plate was much useful, grooves more defined.
ha thanks girls,, yeah i did remove the film, they were just a super super cheap set off ebay that i wasnt expecting much of but ill try the compass idea anyway =) thanks so much =) x
My friend actually surprised me and bought me one from "Salon express" I believe she may have got it from CVS or something because it has the "As Seen On TV" logo on it.. .I have yet to try it out, but I'm sure it didn't cost more than $10.00!! I'm going to test it out and play with it this weekend... It comes with I do believe 5 plates and the stamper.
ha no problems ashley but the seller i bought them off doesn't even sell them anymore, no wonder why! but im 99.99% sure these are the exact same ones from another seller but as i said i didn't buy off this seller and i don't want to tarnish their name at all so I'll just say these look exactly the same in the actual product and packaging ;) http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/34-Nail-...
Dawn I'd love to hear how those plates go and a possible link if you can find them =)
i actually order some bundlemonster plates the other day so fingers crossed they're alot better! If anyone has had experience with bundlemonster your opinion would be much appreciated =) x
I have found Konad for like $2.50 on amazon. They seem to have a limited supply (most places only have the best selling plates) but it has been cheaper for me than trying Ebay or Konad directly. Plus, if you like several plates from one store, they will combine shipping and you save more!
Also, the polish you use can affect it. I got the same no name plates, and had to play around with polishes to get them to work. The better pigmented ones are what to look for. Wet n Wild black and white cremes work well, also their Spoiled line found at CVS. Correction Tape from that line is awesome. If your polish isn't thick enough, unscrew it and leave it open for a while, until you get the consistency you need. Hope that helps! *Bundle Monster is the best non Konad, in my opinion, and their customer service rocks. They replaced the plates that were defective within 3 days for me.
